Nathan Wendt

Nathan Wendt joined JHCGA as Vice President in 2016. He was elected President by JHCGA's board of directors in 2021.

Nathan has a background in management consulting, public policy think tanks, and as an entrepreneur. Prior to joining JHCGA, Nathan worked for Deloitte Consulting and Gallup. In these roles, Nathan worked on organizational transformation projects at U.S. Government Agencies and global data projects for clients including UNICEF, UNDP, the government of Rwanda, and more. Previously, Nathan was an Associate with the EastWest Institute, a foreign policy think and do-tank where he managed EWI's D.C. strategy and outreach to G20 governments, the White House, State Department, and other partners. Nathan has also worked on Presidential Campaign field operations.

From 2003 - 2009, Nathan spent extensive time abroad. In 2003, he traveled from Cairo to Cape Town, in 2005, across India by train. From 2005 - 2009, he spent large chunks of time in southern Africa (Malawi, Zambia, and Mozambique) as a Research Fellow for FINCA, a consultant for Gorongosa National Park, and as a social entrepreneur designing for-profit and sustainable waste collection systems on the ground in Maputo, Mozambique.

During high school, college, and after, Nathan worked at McDonald's, Costco, J. Crew, as a barn mucker, in construction, and as a whitewater raft guide. Nathan holds a BS from the University of Colorado-Boulder and a MBA from the City University of New York. He speaks functional Portuguese, Spanish, and Swahili. He is married with two young kids: a daughter and a son.
